I have a Kawai Studio Upright. I highly recommend it! The touch is much like a pricier Yamaha. Sound quality is good - especially deep, resonant bass. Owned this piano for over 10 years. The only other piano I want is a Mason Hamlin grand.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I did need to tune the highest A# because it was about the same pitch as the A below it. But other than that, I think it is great. I knew what it would sound like because I have the record, by Margaret Leng Tan

In fact, that is what inspired me to get a toy piano of my own.

This little piano is beautiful, obviously well constructed with good materials. We love it although we were a little disappointed with the toy-like sound it produces. We figured at this price we'd get better sound than the baby toy pianos, but if it is better, not by much... But overall it's a magnificent training tool and looks great in the living room!

1. If you used the names of the action parts it would be easier to identify the problem. Here's a graphic with names:

2. Piano technicians are in business to solve problems like this.

you might want to contact a piano dealer. The patterns of them have been repeated and there are many good re-productions, that are quality instruments, but only a ethical dealer can determine what you have.

Comment on Casio AP220 Celviano Digital Piano with Bench by Edward Weiss

I purchased this digital piano because the one I had was out of date. And because I teach piano online and needed something that sounded like a real piano. Well, I wasn't disappointed. The difference between the old Roland and this new Casio is like night and day!

The touch is fantastic. The piano sound is fantastic. And since I really only need the piano sound, that was of primary importance to me.

If you've been wary of buying this because of the 'Casio' name, put your worries to rest. Casio is to digital pianos as to what Samsung now is to television. They're now poised to become the #1 resource.

My recommendation? Buy it before the price goes up.

If you're ready to advance beyond the EZ Play books, this is an excellent choice. The Easy Piano format gives you more notes and chords to bring an added depth to your music. Best of all, you'll find more complete songs here, not just the chorus or the 'familiar' part of a song that you find most frequently in EZ Play books.
